Frequently Asked Questions
Reservations
- How do I make a reservation?Please book through our official app, by DM on Instagram, or by phone.
- Can I book on the same day?Same-day bookings are possible if we have availability, but we recommend booking in advance. Outside our regular hours, an additional fee applies.
- Can I book outside your opening hours?Yes, but an out-of-hours fee applies. We accept requests around the clock, but you must reserve in advance.
- What is the last reception time?The last reception is 17:00, and kimono must be returned by 17:30. After that, an extension fee applies.
- Can I extend or return the kimono the next day?Please request an extension when you book. A next-day return costs an extra ¥1,000 and must be made within our opening hours the following day.
Cancellations
- When do cancellation fees start?Cancellations made by 17:00 the day before are free. After that, a 100% cancellation fee applies.
- What if I am unwell or the weather is bad?You may change the date and time. Please let us know as early as possible.
- What if fewer people come on the day?As a rule we cannot accept changes to the number of guests or cancellations on the day itself.
- Can I cancel part of a group booking?Yes, if you contact us by 17:00 the day before. On the day itself, the full charge applies for everyone.
- How should I contact you to cancel?Please contact us the same way you booked (phone, web, DM and so on).
Returning the Kimono
- By what time must I return the kimono?Please return it by 17:30. After that, an extension fee applies.
- What if I am going to be late returning?Please contact us in advance. An extension fee of ¥500 per person applies for every 30 minutes.
- Is a next-day return possible?Yes. For an extra ¥1,000 you may return it the next day, either by bringing it to the shop during our opening hours or by post at your own expense.
- Where do I return it?Please return it to the same shop where you were dressed. We will give you the details when you book.
- What if I take the kimono off while I am out?Just bring the whole set back to the shop. There is no need to worry about folding it.
Payment
- What payment methods do you accept?Cash only. We would appreciate exact change where possible.
- Can I pay by credit card?We are sorry, but we accept cash only.
- When do I pay?Please pay when you arrive, before you are dressed.
- When do I pay extension and other additional fees?We settle any additional fees when you return the kimono.
- How are cancellation fees paid?For same-day cancellations we will invoice you afterwards and contact you with the details.
What to Bring
- Is there anything I need to bring?Nothing in particular. Everything is included in the rental, so please come empty-handed.
- Can I wear my usual shoes?We lend zori sandals to match your kimono, and we will look after your shoes while you are out.
- Are hair ornaments available?Hair ornaments are included in the set, and you can choose the one you like.
- Do I need to bring make-up?Hair styling and make-up services are not included, so please bring your own if you need them.
- Do I need warm clothing in winter?We also rent haori jackets and stoles, so you can stay warm.
Other
- Can I choose which kimono I wear?Yes, you may choose any kimono you like on the day, and our staff are happy to make suggestions.
- When are yukata available?From June to September we switch to yukata rentals.
